I’m a firm believer in God. I pray every night, but I don’t always go to church. However, that doesn’t change my belief in the Lord’s ability to send messages to all of his children. With that being said, an email I received this morning had a bible verse in it,
“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.
1 Corinthians 9:25”. The important message came with the interpretation of the verse. Many people in our society are simply looking for instant gratification and a quick fix. Those who are looking for quick fixes often stop doing what helped them achieve their success instead of continuing to work hard.
True success is a marathon and not a quick race. A marathon requires continued work and exertion of energy, love and dedication. Last time I checked that sounds a lot like training. Constant and consistent improvement is needed, and it comes from Preparation, Contemplation, and Application.
Proper preparation builds confidence and trust in your abilities in whatever field you dedicate yourself to. It also will help you excel during adverse situations.
Contemplation is essential to improvement because it gives valuable insight on past successes and failures, as well as allowing one to learn from both instances.
The most important step is Application. You really have to own it if you want it and trust in your hard work and show it on the court, field, office or classroom.
The work never stops, “Grinding, n**** out here shining
Early in the morning check the Rolly with the diamonds
Grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding..”
